The best airlines in the world for 2022 according to Skytrax
However, as we approach the quieter months of travel in September and October, there was cause for celebration in London on Friday, as industry leaders gathered at the Langham Hotel for the 2022 Skytrax World Aviation Awards – the first time the event has been held in person. Since 2019
Skytrax, the UK-based airline and airport review and rating website, conducted more than 14 million customer surveys in over 100 countries between September 2021 to August 2022 to find out which airline is currently the preferred airline in the world.
This year’s winner was no stranger to the podium. Newly crowned Qatar Airways has won the grand prize seven times since presenting the awards in 1999. The Qatar national airline also scooped eight more thunderbolts on Friday, including Best Business Class, Best Business Class Seat, and Best Business Class. dining room. This would be plenty to bring back through handbags.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, thanked his “wonderful employees” for their “continued dedication and leadership” and said, “Winning these awards in the same year that we celebrate our 25th anniversary is even more rewarding.”
Soon after receiving the award, he told CNN Travel that the secret to the airline’s sustainable success was: “Consistent service, consistent product, consistent passenger interest, and absolute dedication from everyone who works for the airline.”

Emirates Airlines came in third place, taking the awards for Best In-Flight Entertainment, Best Economy Class, Best Catering in Economy Class, and Best Seat in Premium Economy Class.
Japan’s ANA (All Nippon Airways) took fourth place and also took the title of world’s cleanest airline: it wasn’t when two years of Covid-19 meant that customers were particularly concerned about hygiene and hygiene standards. It won four other awards in addition, including Best Airport Services.
Australian airline Qantas ranked fifth in a survey of more than 350 airlines in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.
Delta Air Lines was the leading airline in the United States, winning six region-specific award categories, while Turkish Airlines was the number one carrier in Europe, taking home four awards including the title of Best Airline in Europe.
Albertine Murasera, a flight attendant in Rwanda who won the award for best cabin crew service in Africa, said the award would encourage the airline to raise standards even further.
It’s an award for “best employees,” she told CNN, which is a very big win for us. “This will encourage us to continue to care about our passengers.”
Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, said that while the awards celebrated the best in aviation, the industry was still grappling with the pressures of Covid, staff shortages and rising fuel prices due to the conflict in Ukraine.
“Overall, it wasn’t the happiest times in many ways,” he told the concert audience.
