Vinod Chantial Adani, brother of Gautam Adani, is the richest NRI
Vinod Chantal Adani, a businessman and older brother of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has become the richest non-resident Indian (NRI), according to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022. Vinod Chantal Adani is also the sixth richest Indian on the list. With a fortune of Rs 1.69 crore.
This year, 94 NRIs made it to the list of the richest Indians. While Vinod Chantalal Adani has emerged as the richest NRI, the Hinduja brothers are ranked second with a fortune of Rs 1.65 crore. Among the NRIs, 48 were from the United States on the list.
Jay Chowdhury is the richest NRI living in the US with a total wealth of Rs 70,000 crore.
Vinod Shantilal Adani lives in Dubai and takes care of businesses in Singapore, Dubai and Jakarta. He started a textile company in Mumbai in 1976 and later expanded it in Singapore. Gautam Adani’s older brother then moved to the Middle East after moving to Dubai in 1994.
The businessman added Rs 37,400 crore to his fortune last year, which is a 28 percent increase. This means that Vinod Shantilal Adani earned an average of approximately Rs 102 crore every day for the past year. It also jumped two places in the list of the top ten richest people in India to reach the sixth place from its eighth rank last year.
Vinod Chantalal Adani’s fortune has increased by 850% in the past five years. While the wealth of Gautam Adani and his family has seen a 15.4 times increase in theirs in five years, Vinod Shantial Adani and his family have increased by 9.5 times.
Gautam Adani topped the 2022 Hurun India Rich List for the first time with a fortune of Rs 1094,400 crore. He added Rs 1,600 crore per day for the past year, according to the list.
